Transformational Leadership in Difficult Times: Dynamic Leader, Adaptive Organization

Challenging times require adaptive leadership. Responding to demands originating from Wall Street to entry level employees, leaders are called upon to manage the current uncertainties and still inspire followers to embrace a new vision.

You'll want to participate with Larraine Segil, author of Dynamic Leader, Adaptive Organization, as she draws from her expansive personal leadership experience to present this webinar. Ms. Segil has held leadership positions in aerospace, finance, health care, and services industries, and has conducted leadership research in over 150 companies.

This webinar will help you with the "how" of being a leader in particularly challenging times. You'll learn a new framework for leadership, the leadership matrix, that aligns the leader and the organization.

The dynamic leadership matrix consists of 10 characteristics of leaders and how those characteristics connect to the matching organization characteristics.

This approach will help you to:

  • Understand and analyze your organizational environment

  • Evaluate yourself

  • Apply a gap analysis to yourself and your direct reports

  • Teach you how to use the leadership framework as a tool

  • Diagnose the degree of fit between yourself and the organizational environment in which you work/live

  • Swiftly execute the strategies that create the desired results

  • Identify the “elephants in the room” and deal with them

Larraine Segil is a recognized expert in the creation, implementation, and management of complex business alliances. She teaches at the California Institute of Technology Industrial Relations Center and presents the highly rated course, Strategic Alliances.

Ms. Segil is Partner Emeritus and was formerly an owner and director of Vantage Partners. Previously, she co-founded The Lared Group, helping companies develop and maintain successful domestic and global business alliances.

Ms. Segil was recently appointed to the World Health Organization's Tropical Diseases Strategic Alliances Advisory Board. She serves on the Board of Frontier Communications, a Fortune 300 company; the Entrepreneurs Board for the UCLA Anderson School of Management; the Los Angeles Regional Technology Alliances (LARTA) board; The Committee of 200 board of Women CEO's; and is a senior research fellow at the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas, Austin. She has been recognized by The Financial Times Knowledge Dialogue Group and The Corporate Strategy Board as a thought leader in alliances.

Ms. Segil has served Global 100 and Fortune 500 companies, assisting them to create and manage their critical business relationships with suppliers, alliances, joint ventures, or channel partners. She also works with startup companies and has turnaround experience.

Ms. Segil was formerly CEO of an advanced materials company providing products and services to aerospace and electronics manufacturers worldwide. She co-founded and ran companies in mortgage banking and medical services, and previously practiced international corporate law.
