Kent Frewing is a principal engineer and technical executive
assistant to the director at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL),
where he has worked since 1967 in solar system exploration, energy,
transportation, and military programs. He began working at JPL
as a system engineer on a Mars Lander study and on the Voyager
Project. He later became a software system engineer on Voyager,
and was a spacecraft system engineer on Mariner Venus/Mercury.
Mr. Frewing worked on solar photovoltaic and solar thermal energy
tasks, electric and hybrid vehicles, military data systems, the
Magellan radar-mapping mission to Venus, and the Mars Observer
project.
He is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics
and Astronautics, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical
and Electronics Engineers, a registered professional electrical
engineer in California, and a member of the California State
Bar.
Mr. Frewing earned his BS in engineering at the California Institute
of Technology, MSEE at Stanford University, and JD at Santa Clara
University.
