Jim Hines has over 30 years of industrial experience in commercial,
civil and military programs. He recently retired from Boeing
Company after 18 years as Director of Systems Engineering at
Huntington Beach. His department supported people, processes,
tools and technologies for Shuttle/Space Station, Delta/Titan
Expendable Launch Systems, Future Combat System, Homeland Security,
X-37, Global Positioning Satellite, Phantom Works, Orbital Express,
Space Exploratory Projects, Wave Rider (X-51A), Hyper X, and
Proprietary. Previously, he had also concurrently led the Engineering
Program/Project Management and the Southern California Phantom
Works Systems Engineering organizations. Recently, Mr. Hines
successfully championed a Capability Model Maturity Level 5 Integration
certification at the site, mentored several award winning employee
involvement teams, and served as the enterprise systems engineering
skill management team leader. He held positions within Boeing
as a chief systems engineer for a Missile Defense project, a
senior manager within Advanced Engineering, and a Project Manager
for Shuttle and Missile Defense programs.
Prior to Boeing Mr. Hines worked for LTV Aerospace Corporation,
Colt Industries and Alcoa.
Mr. Hines earned his MBA in Management (Acquisitions and Contracts)
from University of Dallas; MS Industrial Engineering (Engineering
Management) and MS Metallurgical Engineering from University
of Pittsburgh; and MS and BS Ceramic Science Engineering from
Pennsylvania State University.
