Mark Sargent
Mr. Sargent is the National Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental
Satellite System (NPOESS) Command, Control, and Communication
Segment, Integrated Product Team manager for the Space Systems
Division of the Raytheon Company. Previously, he was the manager
of the development of the command, control, and communication
segment of the NPOESS, and recipient of the NASA Group Achievement
Award, Integrated NPOESS Preparatory Project (NPP) Team, May
2005.
At the Hughes Space and Communications Company, he served in
the roles of test engineer, test director, and spacecraft manager,
responsible for the integration and test of HS601-class satellites
by a multi-disciplinary spacecraft team. In addition, he served
as the satellite integration and test manager, and the ground
segment system engineering manager for the commercial Intermediate
Circular Orbit (ICO) program.
At the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Marshall Space Flight Center,
he served as system analyst for advanced propulsion technologies
and mission analysis.
Mr. Sargent is a senior member of the American Institute of
Aeronautics and Astronautics. He earned his MS in aerospace engineering
at Stanford University and his BS in aerospace engineering at
the University of Illinois. He is a certified Six Sigma Specialist.
